UNH Late Night – 24 January 2026

Late Night at the Sweet! When my kids get these late night athletic events I console myself that this is probably THEIR peak performance hours if it can’t be mine!

I admit, when I pull up results to see how the Astros have fared, I usually slide to the hurdles first (nice 9.22 Rylee!, nice 8.88 Max!). But this season the next sound is the <WHIRRRR> of my mouse wheel as I flick down to the 1500m to see what Gabby and the boys have done this time.

Late Night. Did not disappoint. Would recommend.

Gabby Bedard had IT on the short track. All those tight turns did not stop her from slicing damn near 10s off her already respectable 1500m PR. Slinging around in 4:48.46, she clocked a US#63 tag. Until Saturday night, Gabby–like some of the high-flying boys last week–had not yet cracked the Top 10 for the 1500m. Welp. Let’s start counting as she moves past Tess Silva ’24, Izzy Groulx ’24, Sarah Pelarske ’99, Ashley Morganstern ’06, Kate Burakowski ’96 (former SR), Liz Stokinger (former SR), Morgan freaking Sansing ’16, Ariel Vailancourt’s ’15 insane sophomore season, and Chelsea Henderson ’02 (former SR). That. Ummmm. That leaves only one name left: Britney Johnson ’17. So that’s it–it’s Britney and then it’s Gabby. No. 2. Howdy. And. AND. She holds the senior record. What a campaign.

The boys took it out for a spin in the 1500, too. Jason Robie, on the rebound from his school record smashing 3000m last week, went to the front of the pack Saturday night with his 4:07.84, a US#59. In the process, Jason moves up 3 spots in the Top 10, rising to No. 5 and passing John Stanley ’94 (former SR), Nico Sevilla ’16, and Craig MacPherson ’07. New Junior Record, too!

Trainer Mailloux wasn’t slouching, either, with his seasonal PR 4:10.99 US#80. Demitri Rufo’s 4:35.08 is No. 10 for a frosh, less than a tick behind . . . Jason Robie.

Over in the girls shot put, we have another young athlete on the rise. Hannah Russell has landed at the No. 3 slot for freshman with her PR 29′-4.25″. That’s a list that hasn’t moved since a precocious Briana Danis leapt to the top in 2020.

And so it won’t go unnoticed, congrats to Julian Perkins on his new shot put PR of 35′-1.25″ at the Nashua South Throwers meet earlier this week!
